Six weeks after I began at ECN, we underwent a large reorganization and my Accounting Manager and Payroll Centre Manager both elected for early retirement. ECN is a complex organization with a highly customized SAP. These modifications and the uniqueness of this semi-governmental foundation make it difficult for temporary staff to be effective within a short period. ECN Finance managers usually decide against bringing in external help as the training period just takes too long. I decided to give Seniorstaff the opportunity to find someone despite these issues. I had not previously worked with Seniorstaff, but had heard positive comments about them from my business network. My description of the Payroll Centre Manager was as follows: strong payroll background, heavy pension responsibilities, must be able to double as Accounting Manager as necessary, must have working SAP knowledge, may be required to outsource the whole department, may be required integrate Payroll and P&O and manage the combined department, start immediately 3 days a week, increase to full-time as necessary, minimum 6 months, may extend. You found not only one qualified candidate, but three! And ECN has been very lucky to have him working for us, an excellent manager. I had a similar requirement list for the manager leading our Business Intelligence implementation. I was enthousiastic about the candidate selection and continue to be very pleased with the manager working on this project.
